Victoria man identified as motorcyclist killed on Malahat

The BC Coroners Service has released the name of the motorcyclist killed in one of the weekend crashes on the Malahat.

40-year-old Todd Donald Smith of Victoria was riding northbound around 8:30 Sunday night, when his bike collided with a pick-up towing a travel trailer. The investigation is ongoing.

The crash forced the closure of the highway for hours. Two separate accidents on left numerous people injured and also led to lengthy shut downs.
