It might be a wet weekend for camping, but at least you’ll be allowed to light a campfire.
Marg Drysdale with the Coastal Fire Centre says they’re lifting the ban.
Drysdale says if you do decide to light a fire, it can’t be larger than a half-metre high by a half-metre wide.
You also need to have a hand tool, like a shovel, nearby, or at least eight litres of water to put it out.

Fireworks, sky lanterns and burning barrels are still prohibited.
Municipal burning bylaws do take precedence over Coastal Fire Centre rules…so make sure to check your local government’s website.
