Stage 3 water restrictions implemented across CVRD

The CVRD says extreme heat and dry conditions have forced them to implement Stage 3 water restrictions across the region.

In a media release, they say provincial and regional bylaws are to be observed immediately.

“All CVRD water systems operated by Cowichan Valley Regional Districts are at Stage 3 water use restrictions, with the province moving East Vancouver Island to Drought Level 4,” they say.

Stage 3 conditions follow the same guidelines across BC including a watering ban on all lawns, trees, shrubs and flower gardens on conventional irrigation systems and sprinklers.

According to the district’s website, the only exception to the rule with sprinklers would be a new lawn and permits must have been obtained prior to Stage 2 implementation.
