Community Living BC responds to local concerns over special needs programs for adults

Community Living BC’s CEO says the agency is doing the best it can with local special needs programs for adults and will continue to work with individual families to address concerns.

The response comes on the heels of a demonstration in Duncan over a lack of local services.

Seonag Macrae says it’s important for people to know there are a range of service agencies and programs in the Cowichan Valley.

Macrae urges all families who have questions to speak with local staff as soon as possible after a child turns 16 to begin the planning process.

Some of the families at Wednesday’s rally say they did start planning early, but still couldn’t get the services they need.
