The mayor of North Cowichan says there’s a good news, bad news situation in the works for the Cowichan Regional Visitor Centre (picture courtesy Island Coastal Economic Trust).
Jon Lefebure says the number of visitors is up, the location is good and work is currently being done to improve the parking lot and entry area.
However, funding could soon become an issue for the people who run the Centre: the Duncan-Cowichan Chamber of Commerce.
Lefebure also says extra funding from Destination BC to pay for the cost of the building is frozen and might be discontinued.
