North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are crediting a police dog with helping catch a suspected thief.
They say it happened just after midnight last Thursday.
An officer on patrol got word of a B&E at a shop on Duncan Avenue. As they were investigating, an alarm came in from a store on Trunk Road.
RCMP set up a perimeter in the area and brought in the dog, which led them to a 17 year old, hiding in a yard on Cowichan Way.
