A proposed five-storey residential-commercial building in downtown Duncan is a step closer to becoming a reality after a slight set back.
Mayor Phil Kent says the $11 million Dakova Square project was front and centre at Monday’s meeting, after it landed on the new council’s lap following a motion last month to hold off the final rezoning reading.
The final bylaw reading was approved after a close 4-3 vote.
The building would be located at the corner of Canada Avenue and Government Street and would dramatically alter the look of downtown.
