The Western Forest Products’ sawmills in Ladysmith are shut down for two weeks.
About 80 workers have been given layoffs.
They are expected to be off the job until after the Victoria Day long weekend.
A senior director of communications with Western says the shutdown is due to a lack of logs that fit the Ladysmith mill.
