A Cowichan Valley man has reeled in a big award for his contributions to recreational fisheries.
Ted Brookman has received the 2014 National Recreational Fisheries Award.
He says the honour means a great deal to him and he is ready to start of 2015 with a splash.
Brookman is the president of the Mill Bay Conservation Society…a group that is behind that large salmon run from Shawnigan Creek.
