The BC Non Profit Housing Association says one quarter of renters in BC spend more than half their income on rent, and the number is even higher in Duncan.
The Association just released a new Rental Housing Index. (Click here to see the all data from around the province)
And Executive Director Tony Roy says it shows 33 per cent of renters in the area are in that “crisis level” category.
Roy says the Association also found 58 per cent of renters in Duncan are spending more than 30 per cent a month on rent, which the group considers “unaffordable”.

He says affordable housing needs to be a priority for all levels of government.
