Shawnigan Lake RCMP arrest hit-and-run suspect in Malahat accident

Police have arrested a man suspected of being behind the wheel of a truckĀ involved in a hit-and-run accident on the Malahat on Monday.
Shawnigan Lake RCMP say they believe the 26-year-old Crofton resident was the driver who caused another vehicle to go off the road and down an embankment near the Malahat gas station, injuring a 64- year-old Mill Bay woman.
Police are not releasing the suspect’s name as the investigation is ongoing, and charges have not yet been laid. Police thank the public for their assistance.
