BC Hydro: Island residents must be prepared for power outages

BC Hydro wants to remind residents of Vancouver Island to be prepared in case of an extended power outage.
Ted Olynyk is the company’s manager of community relations for the island and the Sunshine Coast.
He advises people to always be ready to potentially be without power for at least three days by having these essentials.
Last Thursday, tens of thousands of residents lost their power as a result of a wind storm and some didn’t get it back until Saturday.
