The $11-million Dakova Square project that would alter the look of downtown Duncan has cleared another hurdle, barely.
The five-storey residential-commercial building that would be located at Canada Avenue and Trunk Road was the centre of attention at a public zoning amendment hearing and then a council meeting on Monday night.
Mayor Phil Kent explains.
Council voted 4-3 in favour of rezoning that would allow the building to be five stories and have more space for sale within the structure.
Councillor Michelle Staples voted against it.
The project still needs a go ahead from the Ministry of Transportation and then a building permit from council…which could be addressed next month.
