Barker vying for another term as councillor in Duncan

Incumbent councillor Martin Barker will be seeking re-election in the City of Duncan when residents take to the polls next month.
Barker says if he nails down a seat on council for the next term he would like to see the municipality continue with near rate of inflation tax raises.
He adds he is in favour of an amalgamation study.
Barker says he has learned over the last three years that you don’t always get your way in politics, however, a single voice can impact a community by representing a group of citizens that may not always be heard.
 Nominations for the November 15th election have to be in by Friday…

So far, Michelle Bell, Roger Bruce, Tom Duncan, Gordy Heppell, Sharan Jackson, George Nielsen and Joe Thorne have also filed their papers to run for Council
