School District 79 is reviewing its policies on religious accommodation, after a music teacher was accused of racism by a student’s family.
The official trustee for the Cowichan Valley School District, Mike McKay, says they’re working with the Ministry of Education.
He says there are several characteristics that a good policy should have.
A group of parents demonstrated in front of the SD79 office back in March in support of the teacher, claiming the family involved was bullying the school community.
