Duncan-North Cowichan RCMP are investigating the circumstances surrounding the July 10th death of a Chemainus man at the Cowichan District Hospital.
Corporal Krista Hobday is a media liaison with the detachment.
She says 82-year-old Gordon Kriese died at the facility a week after an apparent physical altercation with a dementia patient.
According to a report, Kreise who was long time member of the Duncan Curling Club was apparently in a hospital washroom when the attack occurred.
