Owners of anchored or moored boats in Bird’s Eye Cove will not have to remove them, at least for now
So says the mayor of the Municipality of North Cowichan Jon lefebure.
He says council discussed the issue at a special meeting yesterday after residents in the cove were outraged they received a notice to remove their boats within seven days or face a five hundred dollar fine.
Lefebure says they made a bit of a mistake in handling the whole situation because there intentions were directed possibly at derelict vessels.

He adds, however, because of what the bylaw says they encompassed all the boats that are moored.
