The province is looking for public input for its role on the legalization of non medical cannabis.
Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General Mike Farnworth says they’ve launched a process for public consultation that will run through to November 1st.
Farnworth says there are numerous questions that they need answers to including the legal age of use….
Besides the public engagement process the government will launch a random telephone survey, talk with local governments, Indigenous governments and organizations, and stakeholders from law enforcement, health, agriculture and other sectors.
The Federal government is planning to pass legislation to legalize recreational marijuana use in July of 2018 and Farnworth says the province hopes to have their legislation in place before then.
