BC’s new government has officially take power today.
John Horgan was sworn in as the 36th Premier of British Columbia, by Lieutenant Governor Judith Guichon at Government House.
Twenty ministers and two ministers of state were also sworn into cabinet. Six MLAs were also named as parliamentary secretaries.
The NDP have added some new portfolios as expected, including a stand-alone Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions, a Minister of State for Child Care, and a Minister for Social Development and Poverty Reduction.
It’s also the first time in BC history there is an equal number of men and women named to cabinet.
