MLAs across the province are back in Victoria on Thursday, as the legislature sits for the first time since the May election.
Cowichan Valley MLA Sonia Furstenau says she is ready to get to work.
A non-confidence motion is expected, and if the Liberals lose that vote, the lieutenant governor will ask the NDP-Greens to form government. Furstenau says their priorities will focus on the emerging economy and getting moving with an innovation commissioner which will help small and new businesses emerge. She says this will have a huge impact on the Cowichan Valley.
The first order of business will be choosing a house speaker – but no one wants the job, as the parties are within one vote of eachother. The Liberals have 43 seats, while the NDP and Greens combine for 44.
