With the first of three storms in the rear view mirror we can look forward to storm number two.
Armel Castellan with Environment Canada says it should arrive tonight (Thurs) and wind will be the big story for the east side of Vancouver Island as the system moves up the Strait of Georgia…
The leftover system from Typhoon Songda will arrive on Saturday, but Castellan says the track of the storm is a little uncertain yet….
Because of the rain accompanying the systems, Castellan says municipal services and low lying properties will be taxed when it comes to drainage.
The CVRD is also warning the public to stay away from rivers and waterways during heavy rain.
The BC River Forecast Centre issued a High Streamflow Advisory for Vancouver Island including the Chemainus and Cowichan Rivers.
Streamflows are expected to rapidly increase throughout the Cowichan Region due to the series of storms forecasted. Flooding isn’t currently expected, but changes could result in flood watches or warnings over the next few days.
