The United Way Central and Northern Vancouver Island are kicking off their fall campaign with a big goal of raising over 250 thousand dollars.
Over 130 people turned out for the kick off breakfast in Duncan this morning (thu). Executive Director Signy Madden says the event is to raise awareness in the community about the need for strong social services, and how the United Way can help.
Madden says the kick-off breakfast was also a great chance to celebrate last year’s accomplishments and raising 230 thousand dollars for our local community groups.
