A Mill Bay coffee shop was victim to the quick change scam a couple weeks ago.
Nanaimo RCMP reported incidents in Ladysmith and Nanaimo between April 12th and 18th, and when Rusticana barista Ruby Bressan heard the story on Juice FM, she realized she had been a victim of the scam on April 10th.
Bressan says a well-dressed man came in that busy Sunday afternoon and purchased something small.
RCMP in Ladysmith and Nanaimo believe it is the same person involved in multiple incidents across the region. The suspect is described as white man, approximately 6 ft., 250 pounds, in his late 30’s to early 40’s with short brown hair and a receding hairline. The man also has a small tattoo on the right side of his neck.
