Ladysmith Council wants to go over a few things before deciding what to do with boat owners that have been told to leave an area known as Dogpatch.
Mayor Aaron Stone says the deadline on eviction notices delivered earlier was Sunday, however, Council wants to see if it can find a way to work with the group “Ladysmith Harbour Community”.
He also says they want to go over their legal options, before moving to enforce the orders.
Stone says one of the main goals of sending out the notices was to trying to figure out which boats in Dogpatch are actually abandoned.

It’s not clear how many boat owners have already removed their vessels from the area.
