North Cowichan, Rowing Canada talk new facility on Quamichan Lake

The Municipality of North Cowichan is hoping to land a new rowing facility.

Mayor Jon Lefebure says they have spoken to Rowing Canada about bringing a National Rowing Centre of Excellence to Quamichan Lake.

He says there are a couple of qualities that they like about the potential site.

Lefebure says a facility would also be great for developing home grown rowers and could provide a boost for local tourism.

Rowing Canada is expected to make some decisions within the next couple of months.
