New child care spaces in North Cowichan are currently being developed and the municipality says they’re looking for engagement to ensure access to quality learning.
According to the municipality, an open house is scheduled for Apr. 8, at the Maple Bay Elementary Library, and residents across the area are invited to take part in an online survey that will highlight project details.
They add funding for the 158-space facility is a collaboration from several different stakeholders, and the facility will replace the current one on Sprott Road.
“In 2023 North Cowichan received a grant over $18 million provided by the federal and provincial government through the Canada-British Columbia Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement, and the ChildCareBC New Spaces Fund,” they say. “This will support the new facility.”
