BC First Nations getting funding for clean-energy projects

12 First Nations are getting financial support for their clean-energy projects.

The BC Government is investing $1.49 million to the Nations, with the money to be used to develop projects that provide affordable energy options, lower emissions, and protect the environment throughout BC.

Minister of Energy and Climate Solutions Adrian Dix says this investment aims to increase energy independence and lower reliance on power imports.

The province says the money comes from the First Nations Clean Energy Business Fund, which supports clean-energy projects from several nations.
