The Emergency Management Exemplary Service Award was presented by Public Safety Canada on Feb. 26 and MP Lisa Marie Barron says the crew has worked tirelessly to make sure everyone who travels on coastal waters is protected and safe.

“The selfless volunteers from RCMSAR Station 29 in Ladysmith work tirelessly ensuring the safety of all who travel, work, and play on our coastal waters,” she says. “I have had the privilege of going out on the water with them and have seen firsthand the amazing work they do.

“I’m so glad they’re being recognized for their unwavering commitment to this vital, emergency services work.”
