Brace for potential power outages as strong winds come to parts of BC today.
Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a wind warning as a low-pressure system is set to approach Vancouver Island this afternoon, tracking the southern section of the Island overnight.
Winds of 70 kilometers per hour will gust up to 90 kilometers for East Vancouver Island, Southern Gulf Islands, Sunshine Coast, and Greater Victoria.
The weather agency warns the winds could damage buildings, break off tree branches, cause power outages, and toss loose objects.
