UPDATE 10:45 a.m.: Hydro crews were able to regain power for 847 customers, with Campbell River having no outages.

Over 5,150 customers are without power as the snowfall continues.
BC Hydro says the outages happened between Monday night and early Tuesday morning in several parts of Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast, affecting 6,001 customers by the early morning.
5,154 customers are still without power.
This comes as snowfall continues to hit the regions, with Environment and Climate Change Canada saying between 10 to 30 centimeters of snow are falling for different communities.
Most of the outages come from the Sunshine Coast at 4,772 affected customers, with 72 from Powell River and 4,700 from Sechelt.
For Vancouver Island, 432 customers lost power in Gabriola Island, Ladysmith, Duncan, Qualicum Beach, and Nanaimo.
While some of the outages were caused by a falling tree, or a snow storm, Hydro adds for other outages, they are still investigating the causes.
Updates to come when they become available.
