Construction expected to cause traffic delays on Maple Bay Road

Expect traffic to be backed up starting Monday on Maple Bay Road as crews start improving infrastructure in the area.

According to a staff report, Maple Bay Road will be under construction from Tzouhalem Road to Frances Street from Jan. 6 to Jan. 17 to install two water services and a water main in front of 1987 Maple Bay Road.

The Municipality of North Cowichan says they’ll have single alternating traffic while the construction is taking place, and with flaggers in place during the improvements they’re asking everyone to take extra care in the area.

They add alternative routes will be highlighted and are asking everyone to use those routes if possible.
