The only all-season BMX track on Vancouver Island is open again.
The Marie Davidson BMX Track in Nanaimo re-opened this week, with 4,000 square metres of new track for riders to enjoy.
The new jumps, bumps and berms were built by Olympic BMX track builder Tom Ritz Design to make for a fun, fast, and competitive BMX racing experience. The track uses recycled concrete an asphalt, sealed against all weather conditions, making it the only one on the island that’s usable year-round.
The track in Beban Park is near the Steve Smith Bike Park, pump track, and Mountain Bike Skills Park, making Nanaimo a destination for cyclists from all around the Island.
The upgrades cost nearly $2 million, mostly covered by provincial and federal funding.
