Nominations are now open for you to nominate a business or individual for excellence in the Cowichan Valley.
According to the Duncan Cowichan Chamber of Commerce, since 1996, they’ve been hosting the Black-Tie Awards to shine a spotlight on businesses, individuals and organizations across the Cowichan Valley Regional District recognizing their achievements and dedication.
They say this year several new categories have opened to make sure everyone who deserves it gets recognized.
“We’ve refreshed the Black-Tie Awards with exciting new categories like New Business and Community Builder while evolving others,” they say. “Returning favorites include volunteer of the year, young entrepreneur, and three distinct business excellence categories.”
Marketing and member engagement specialist Phil Reilander says don’t be afraid to nominate someone, all nominations matter.
“This is really about context, so it’s not a voting thing, we don’t look for a lot of them,” he says. “One nomination is all it takes to get in front of the judges, and we’re happy to hear your story about why these guys are so great.”
Nominations are open until Jan. 26, with the awards scheduled to be held at the Chemainus Theatre on Apr. 11.
