A campaign to give turkeys to families in Cowichan Tribes is back again this year.
The Turkey Trot is now in its 8th year of helping First Nations families struggling with the high cost of food enjoy a turkey dinner on Christmas Day.
Turkey Trot organizer Steve Sxwithul’txw says they raised over $4,500 last year and gave away over 450 turkeys.
He says just over $3000 has been raised so far this year and the goal is to match last year’s total.
