The City of Duncan is urging the public to be cautious starting Sunday to accommodate a scheduled power outage.
The outage is scheduled to take place on Dec. 1 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Trunk Road at Marchmont Road and Coronation Avenue, and the city adds traffic lights will be affected during this time.
“Any pedestrians using the intersection during a power outage should exercise caution and watch for vehicles from each direction,” they say. “Pedestrians may consider using alternative crossings.”
They’re also reminding everyone in vehicles to treat the intersection as a four-way stop and make sure drivers remain extra vigilant.
“Remember to come to a complete stop, yield to pedestrians and to others who have the right of way,” they say. “Also, yield the right of way to the vehicle on the right if it arrives at the intersection at the same time.”
The outage has been planned by BC Hydro.
