Environment Canada warns of high winds and possible power outages tonight

Environment and Climate Change Canada says to be ready for high winds that may cause damage tonight.

They say a frontal system will move across the south coast bringing a brief period of strong gusty winds with it, which will peak at midnight.

Wind gusts could reach 90 km/h over some exposed sections of the coast.

They add damage to windows and shingles, and loose objects may be tossed by the winds and could cause injuries.
