Another storm will hit the Island this weekend, but it won’t be as bad as last weekend, which resulted in three deaths.
The Weather Network is predicting that two weather systems will merge off the Island’s West Coast before making landfall. However, this storm will have less rain and more wind, between 60 and 80 kilometres per hour in the Strait of Georgia and up to 100 kilometres per hour around Haida Gwaii.
The Island’s West Coast will still see a lot of rain, up to 100 millimetres, by Sunday.
Last weekend’s storm resulted in three deaths, two near Bamfield when the main road was washed out, and one woman in Coquitlam whose home was washed away in a mudslide.
