Allenby Road re-opens to single lane alternating traffic

Allenby Road officially opened to single-lane alternating traffic to help alleviate congestion while work to restore the area is underway. 

You’ll see a new traffic light and a concrete barrier on the left-hand side of the road.  

This project phase will remain in place until next autumn says Cowichan Tribes. 

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is working to fine-tune the timing of the lights over the coming weeks. 

Cowichan Tribes also reminded the public that the speed limit along Allenby Road is 30km/hr.
