89.7 Sun FM/My Cowichan Valley Now is reaching out to all candidates in the October 19 provincial election to ask for their positions on the major issues.
Debra Toporowski, the NDP candidate for the Cowichan Valley, answered topics covered, ranging from access to healthcare, affordability and the opioid crisis.
Toporowski says to tackle affordability the NDP is looking to provide multiple tax cuts, rebates for renters and free transit for kids under 12.
In terms of healthcare, the NDP is looking to add 128 spaces to the UBC medical school and here in the Cowichan Valley the new hospital wouldn’t have been possible with the BC NDP, she says.
