Shawnigan Lake RCMP say an investigation is still open are they’re looking into a report of an elderly woman who was sexually assaulted.
Police responded to the call just after 9:00 p.m. on July 23 and say she had been sexually assaulted after an unknown man entered her home.
A specialized dog unit was called into service, and despite the K-9’s efforts police say they were unable to track the suspect.
Corporal Alex Berube says the investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Shawnigan Lake RCMP at 250-743-5514.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, between 18-32 years old who was last seen wearing a dark bike helmet, light coloured shirt and a face covering.
