A wildfire near Cassidy has been updated by the Coastal Wildfire Service and is now labeled as being held.
The fire was discovered on Aug. 9, on the north bank of the Nanaimo River and was believed to be human caused.
According to the BC Wildfire Service’s website there are currently 12 firefighters and seven operational field staff working to ensure the blaze stays held.
The fire was originally 2.3 hectares in size.
