Shawnigan Lake RCMP are investigating a sexual assault that happened Tuesday evening in Cobble Hill.
The RCMP was called just after 9 pm on July 23, 2024, after an elderly woman was attacked by an unknown man her home in the Carlton Drive area.
A police dog went to the scene along with frontline officers but was not able to track the suspect.
The man is described as Caucasian with a medium build, between 18-32 years old, and was from 5’10 to 6’1 tall.
He was wearing a dark bicycle helmet, light coloured t-shirt, and a face covering.
RCMP Corporal Alex Bérubé says investigators “seized exhibits which will be subject to forensic analysis.”
The police are asking anyone with information or who may possess video surveillance in the area to contact them.
The RCMP say there are no known connections at this time to other sexual assaults reported this week that took place in the Victoria area.
