Annual ‘Celebrating Water Festival’ Returns to the Shores of Lake Cowichan

If you happen to be in Lake Cowichan this weekend the Cowichan Lake and River Stewardship Society (CLRSS) is hosting their annual ‘Celebrating Water Festival’.
The event is dedicated to promoting water conservation, environmental stewardship and appreciation of the Cowichan Lake and river watershed.
CLRSS President Judy Brayden says they hope to inspire a deeper appreciation for the natural world and are looking forward to hosting the event. 
The CLRSS says that this year they are also celebrating the progress made towards building a new weir.
The event kicks off at 10:00 am July 20th in Saywell Park and wraps up at 2:00 pm.
Festivities include a tour of the current weir, guided nature walks, interactive exhibits and cake cutting.
