Some concerns are being raised about a plan to allow pickleball at the Cowichan Sportsplex.
The strata at Evenings Ease Court on Trunk Road sent a letter to North Cowichan Council earlier this month saying they are very “distressed” at the possibility of pickleball coming to their neighbourhood.
“Pickleball is not neighbourhood friendly,” reads the letter. “There has been much media attention on the subject and the majority of that attention has been related to serious noise impacts.”
This type of sentiment has been echoed in other communities, recently North Saanich council voted to close a pickleball court after receiving noise complaints.

The letter was accepted for information at the July 17 council meeting.
