The federal government is helping fund six projects for seniorsĀ in the Cowichan Valley and Nanaimo.
The Minister of State for Seniors, Alice Wong, announced in Ladysmith on Friday that $142,000 will be provided through the New Horizons for Seniors Program.
Wong says the projects range from buildingĀ renovations to upgrades at local workshops.
She says the goal is to help seniorsĀ have active, informed and engaged lifestyles.
