Body found in Long Lake

A body has been recovered from the south end of Long Lake this morning. The lake is in North Nanaimo.

The body was spotted floating about 40 metres out by someone who was on a morning walk around 10:45 am.

The city of Nanaimo Fire and Rescue and RCMP responded and brought the body to shore.

The BC Coroner’s Service is beginning its investigation, but, does not believe there was anything suspicious about the person’s death.
