Extra BC Ferries sailings added for Easter long weekend

The first long weekend of spring starts Friday for most people.

BC Ferries is expecting the Easter stretch to be fairly busy this year, although whether people have Friday, Monday or both off, and the timing of school breaks could impact traffic numbers.

Deborah Marshall of BC Ferries also says there’s another factor at play.

Marshall says they expect traffic to start picking up on Thursday afternoon.

Ferries has added 58 extra sailings. Most are on the Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay route. 42 of them are on the Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay route, and there are ten between Nanaimo and Horseshoe Bay
