A turkey farmer from the Cowichan Valley is facing fraud charges after a lengthy investigation by North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP.
James Hewitt Peach is charged with two counts of fraud over $5000.
Corporal Krista Hobday says the 59-year-old is accused of defrauding two men out of about $155,000, after they hired him more than four years ago. He was a Chartered Accountant but that designation has been revoked.
Hobday says the impact on the victims goes far beyond the money they’ve lost.
