Word that a medical marijuana company with plans for a facility in Yellow Point is ready to finalize a deal with Parksville has opponents relieved, but remaining on guard.
Wildflower Marijuana’s original plan called for two sites on the mid-Island: Yellow Point and Nanoose.
David Brown with the Yellow Point Concerned Citizens group says now that Wildflower has made a 20-thousand dollar deposit on industrial land in Parksville they’re hoping the Yellow Point idea is dead. Brown says industrial sites are where big commercial grow ops belong, not the type of land Wildflower was looking at in Yellow Point.
Wildflower hasn’t confirmed whether they’re still looking at two locations on the Island.
