A Duncan winery has made Small Business BC’s short list for Best International Trade.
Averill Creek Vineyard is up against four other BC businesses for the award.
Wendy Johnston and her husband Andy own the winery. They built it in 2005 and sold their first batch in 2006. She says they started selling wine to Chinese clients four years ago.
Johnston says last year, they exported about 1,800 cases of wine to China.
Averill Creek will now have present a Dragon’s Den style pitch for a shot at the Small Business BC title. The winners will be announced Feb 26.
